About
Overview
My name is Stacy Westbrook, and I’ll be your blog host at Thoughts & Deeds. I’m a Principal at Happy, Inc., a small collaborative interactive agency in Portland, Oregon. When I’m not busy being an interactive designer, I spend my time teaching at Portland State University, walking dogs at the Oregon Humane Society, kicking a soccer ball around at Portland Indoor, making double-plays from right field for my softball team in the RCSA Women’s Division, brewing some tasty beers, spending time with my wonderful partner Kathy Hyzy, and about a million other things.
I’ve had a couple of different blogs over the years, one focused on professional content, the other focused on beer. I love those blogs, but they don’t really let me explore all the things I want to say and share with my peers, friends, colleagues, and all the random folks on the intertubes. Thoughts & Deeds is kind of an experiment, a way to merge my interests in a single blog — and see what happens.
Thoughts & Deeds comes from the notion that ideas and actions make things happen. Everything we think and everything we do causes change in the world around us, no matter how small that change might be. In the office at Happy, Inc. we talk a lot about changing the business model of the interactive agency. At home we talk about changing the president, the environment, the way we think about the world.
How can we talk these thoughts and turn them into deeds? How can we create change in our lives, whatever form it may take?
