Music for the Masses

Between Muxtape, Twitter, and KEXP I’ve discovered a lot of new-to-me music in the last few months. Normally, I’d share my latest favorites through my monthly Muxtape, but now that the RIAA has shut that down I’ll have to settle for an iMix of my favorite songs from each album.
Two artists didn’t make it on to the iMix because iTunes doesn’t carry their music. So go check out The Hood Internet and GirlTalk already! Albums and mixes by these mashup artists are either free or very very inexpensive. Sweet.
On the note of music-sharing, I’ve looked at a couple of other services that could be Muxtape stand-ins (such as Mixwit), but they require you to host the music files yourself or use only what they have on their servers already (like Grooveshark). Bummer. The simplicity of Muxtape was what made it awesome. Have a suggestion for a similar service?
Go buy music off my iMix and support these great artists!
